When our baby approaches six months, parents begin to get excited about the idea of introducing solids into their diet, and with the milestone that is for our precious treasure to put aside exclusive breastfeeding to get closer to one feeding every time closer to that of adults. - Banana pancakes
Only by combining a ripe banana with a couple of eggs can we get delicious pancakes for our little gourmet. Without milk or flour, they are ideal even for babies with a history of allergies and intolerances in the family (except for its two ingredients, of course). One tip, it is better to make them small, since they do not lose stability with size as they do not have flour.
- Broccoli and cauliflower fritatas
Once both vegetables are steamed, we mash them and add a couple of eggs, flour and garlic to enhance the flavor of the vegetables. In a frying pan, with a little oil, cook until golden brown on both sides in small circles that the child can easily handle with their hands. We can also change the base vegetables for others of our choice, such as grated carrots and zucchini or peppers with peas, and store them in the freezer to have a healthy dinner instantly.
- Chicken meatballs
Chopping chicken thigh meat at home and some vegetables, such as carrots or peppers, we can get a very tender and juicy meat mixture. We only have to make balls and fry or bake them until they are golden before offering them to our little one. Also, if we squash them, we can use them as hamburgers! Another dish that we can make in abundance and freeze for when we have less time.
- Fish bites
Balls, the size of a golf ball, made with mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes, fish crumbs (previously cooked salmon or cod) and some seasonal vegetables. We can add a beaten egg and some grated cheese to make sure that the ball is stable and bake them 10-15m after having refrigerated them so that they harden. These interesting croquettes or balls can also be kept frozen to offer at another time.
Minced pork, beef or chicken, cooked slowly in a vegetable sauce with tomato. We can prepare ratatouille, which we will use for another dish and, passed through the blender, use it to cook the meat.
This chickpea paste, which can be easily made with your home blender with chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic and oil and adding or not toasted sesame seeds, is ideal for our little one to dip breadsticks or vegetable sticks.
We must not forget that the baby himself will be the one to decide what and how much he wants to eat, since this method allows self-regulation, so we must arm ourselves with patience and respect his evolution.
